On his inaugural day of duty, the young pooch arose early to make preparations for his swearing-in ceremony. However, he appeared fatigued due to his anxiousness throughout the preceding night, contemplating his momentous first day. Consequently, he dozed off instead of partaking in the ceremony as a member of the department.

When Brody found himself amidst his new coworkers, he tranquilly dozed while they proceeded with the solemn swearing-in ceremony behind him. “We gently placed him upon the desk, and he experienced such contentment that he promptly reclined and succumbed to slumber,” relayed Officer Keith Medeiros, Brody’s handler.

“He engages in playtime with great vigor and sleeps with fervor,” Medeiros disclosed to The Dodo. “Whenever he is not frolicking, he is immersed in a deep sleep, which can present challenges since he happens to slumber frequently.”

Law enforcement authorities mentioned that Brody is poised to engage in activities involving the town’s educational institutions. “We are absolutely thrilled for Brody to acquaint himself with the residents of our community, as well as the students attending the Bristol-Warren Regional School District,” expressed Medeiros. They further revealed that the presence of a comforting canine like Brody will amplify their community initiatives, while simultaneously alleviating stress and anxiety for both witnesses and investigators.

“People are under an incredible amount of stress, especially in law enforcement,” Medeiros acknowledged. “Just by entering the police department alongside Brody, individuals spontaneously beam with delight, finding themselves in an improved state of mind. They yearn to caress him, to embrace him, and it undeniably yields positive outcomes.”
